‘The Sickness Series’ outlines the “basics”, so to speak, of mental illness and its counterparts. The subject of mental health in education remains minimal. This newer crowd appreciates virtual, quick and effective messages, lessons, and concepts, and while our world becomes evermore consumed with artistic pursuit, it only makes sense that we as a people attempt to find solace and comfort in art as well.
This series aims to break the stigma through creating something “beautiful” out of things that are… “not so beautiful”. It covers the symptoms and struggles of anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder on colorful, spray painted canvas backgrounds that catch the eye quickly. The complete series includes five (5) pieces, and is not for sale.
